There’s a new player in town, with HONOR announcing their official arrival in Australia, bringing along a full eco-system of phones, tablets and wearables.
The Australian launch is headlined by two new phones – the HONOR Magic V5, as well as the HONOR 400 Pro – which are launching alongside a slew of phones from Honor, as well as a raft of devices including the HONOR Pad 10, HONOR Watch 4, and HONOR CHOICE Earbuds Clip also along for the ride.
Honor’s global eco-system is powered by a $10 billion Alpha Plan’ investment in AI and Device R&D which has led to technology improvements including on-device AI, Silicon-carbon battery technology and their MagicOS, which features Google Gemini integration.
The star of the launch is the foldable Honor Magic V5. Sliding in just under the Galaxy Fold 7, the HONOR Magic V5 measures just 8.8mm thin when closed, nabbing it the crown of the ‘World’s Thinnest Foldable’.
The folding phone includes a 7.95-inch inner display and 6.43-inch outer screen which are both compatible with a stylus, making for a versatile, large screen device for note taking, art and more. It even includes a multi-flex mode, which Multi-can run up to three apps simultaneously,
There’s plenty of grunt on-board, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform running the show, with 16GB of memory and 512GB of on-board storage.
The phone also runs a 5820mAh Silicon Carbon battery with 15% silicon content, which Honor says adds longevity to the phone without the bulk.
There are 20MP selfie cameras embedded in the inner and outer displays, with a triple camera array on the rear consisting of a 50MP main sensor, with 50MP Ultra Wide and 64MP telephoto with up to 3x optical zoom. The camera uses the AI HONOR Image Engine which offers AI Enhanced Portrait, AI Super Zoom, and Motion Sensing Capture for better quality shots.
