LG announces new washing machines and dryers with innovative AI features to take the hassle out of doing the laundry

LG Electronics Australia has taken the wraps off its new Series 9 and Series 10 washing machines and dryers. These new appliances are designed to make your life and laundry easier, thanks to new innovative AI features.

The new washing machines feature a two-button start, which complies with the new safety regulations on dual-action start mechanisms for washing machines, which are scheduled to take effect in the middle of 2026.

Shannon Tweedie, Marketing Manager for Home Appliance Solution Company at LG Electronics Australia, said: “Our new range of washers and dryers blends AI with the safety-enhancing two-button start. And through LG Affectionate Intelligence – AI that cares – we’re making laundry more convenient and efficient, giving families back time, reducing household chore stress, and providing greater peace of mind. This allows them to focus on what truly matters, knowing their laundry is cared for with intelligence and care.”

LG has coined the term Affectionate Intelligence for their AI features with the new intelligence showing empathy and working seamlessly within your home. The AI Wash cycle is powered by LG’s AI Direct Drive motor technology and intelligently detects fabric weight and softness, automatically adjusting wash motions to optimise garment care.  No more excuses for not putting the washing on because you “didn’t know what cycle to choose.”

The Series 9 and Series 10 ranges are available in 9kg and 10kg sizes and Matte Black and Essence White finishes.

Other features include TurboClean360, which offers a deep clean for lightly soiled items in just 39 minutes, an ezDispense auto-dosing system to dispense a preset amount of detergent and softener based on the load size, with enough detergent for up to 31 medium washes able to be stored in the appliance.

The new dryer models feature advanced drying technology that delivers efficiency and garment care, with a 9-star energy rating. The Sensor Dry feature prevents over-drying of garments by monitoring the heat exchange, moisture and air temperature, while the Allergy Care cycle reduces exposure to common household allergens. There is also an Auto Cleaning Condenser that operates during the drying cycle to maintain dryer performance throughout the cycle.

The new LG Series 9 and Series 10 line-up is available now at leading retailers and LG.com/au.  For more information, visit:  https://www.lg.com/au/lg-ai-vx-laundry/
