Alexa, we asked you what this year? Taylor Swift again?

Amazon has revealed the most asked questions of Alexa this year in Australia, with Taylor Swift once again topping the list – can we ever get enough of her? Seems not.

After being the most asked about celebrity in 2024, Taylor Swift was again the most asked-about celebrity this year. Many of the questions asked her worth, how tall she is, who she is dating, and to play her music.

Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters were near the top of the list with the virtual band having multiple songs in Amazon Music’s top 10 most-requested songs of 2025. Australian band ROSÉ also made an appearance in the top artists list.

“Alexa has become a go-to for every type of question you can imagine for Aussie customers,” said Kate Gooden, Country Manager, Amazon Alexa ANZ. “Whether they’re asking about Taylor Swift, discovering new artists like HUNTR/X, checking footy scores, or simply asking ‘how long do you cook an egg?’, Alexa has been there to help. It’s fascinating to see how customers’ curiosity has changed over the years with Alexa – from the practical to the playful – but T-Swift remains an enduring favourite.”

The most-asked-about local celebs included Steve Irwin, Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue and Chris Hemsworth. In contrast, our most-asked-about bands were led by ROSÉ, The Kid Laroi, Kylie Minogue, Hilltop Hoods and John Farnham. I’m not sure why Chris Hemsworth is there, and no Parkway Drive, but that must be just my personal list.

As you would expect, Australia’s greatest sport, AFL, once again dominated the queries, with the Collingwood Magpies the most asked-about local team (probably something along the lines of “Why are Collingwood Magpies so annoying?” I suspect, although that is not official, just speculation on my behalf). Behind Collingwood were the Brisbane Lions, Geelong Cats, Adelaide Crows and Sydney Swans.

Unsurprisingly, the only NRL team in the top 10 sports teams was the Brisbane Broncos. Other sports stars appearing the lists included Lionel Messi and Christian Ronaldo, both appearing in the top five most asked-about celebrities overall.

Other celebrities asked about included MrBeast, Ariana Grande, and Eminem, all of whom featured in the top 10.

Most general knowledge questions included queries about Australia’s, New Zealand’s, and the USA’s population sizes, Islamic prayer timings, and general cooking questions, including cooking times for eggs, chicken, broccoli, sweet potato, and salmon. It seems Aussies are struggling to get to sleep, with many Aussies asking “how to fall asleep?” and “how to fall asleep fast?”

What did you ask Alexa this year?
