Aussie startup Strapsicle strut their stuff at CES 2026 with a nifty device for people with accessibility challenges

Already in market with their viral Kindle & Kobo straps designed to allow users to hold their devices more comfortably, Strapsicle have now expanded their unique approach to cases with a patented world first for the iPad mini which they say is going to help millions of people with accessibility challenges. They should know. They have sold hundreds of thousands of their Kindle & Kobo straps with glowing endorsements from medical professionals and users alike.

The Strapsicle for iPad Mini offers

  • Open-hand support
  • Neutral hand and wrist posture.
  • Low muscle load
  • Support for arthritis or other chronic condition sufferers

Those with mobility issues brought on by chronic pain find it difficult to hold or balance devices for long periods of time. The Strapsicle iPad mini case is designed to make life just that little bit easier when reading, drawing, note-taking, streaming, gaming and travelling.

It’s a great story on how the concept was born which led to an appearance on “Shark Tank”

“What started as an unfortunate incident in a moment of postpartum sleep deprivation, which led me to dropping my Kindle e-reader on my newborn son’s head, has turned out to be one of the greatest accidents of all time,” said Strapsicle co-founder and CEO Louise Rice.

Key features of the Strapsicle for iPad mini are:

  • Built-in, patented silicone straps that enable secure, one-handed or two-handed holding for extended reading and viewing
  • Detachable cover for users who want protection when traveling and a lighter setup at home
  • Removable Apple Pencil strap for added convenience without unnecessary bulk
  • Interchangeable straps that allow users to mix and match colours to suit their mood, moment, or outfit

Ben Stainlay, co-founder and Head of Product for Strapsicle said “With the Strapsicle iPad mini Case, we’ve created a solution for customers that are increasingly using their iPad mini for reading, that feels like a natural extension of your hands – secure, flexible, and designed for real people and real use.”

The Strapsicle iPad mini Case will be available through leading retailers worldwide beginning July 1, 2026 for a retail price of $69.99 USD. Aussie pricing to come
