At CES, Lenovo have announced their new expanded range of Windows 11-based Yoga and IdeaPad devices with new AI-focused laptops.
The announcement at CES covered a range of new IdeaPad and Yoga devices, including the new “Aura Edition” Yoga Pro models, new Yoga and IdeaPad 2-in-1 and ultra-portables, and even a new All-in-One (AIO) and a new Yoga Mini PC.
Lenovo has also thrown in a few other options including a new Chromebook Plus.
The new Yoga range is chock full of options, with Lenovo giving the ‘Aura Edition’ treatment to the 16” Yoga Pro 9i, 15” Yoga Pro 7i and 14” Yoga Slim 7i Ultra, while their Yoga 7a will get updated 14 and 16-inch options, and two new portable Yoga Slim models.
The new Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition will feature a 16” 3.2K resolution PureSight Pro Tandem OLED display, which supports 100% Adobe RGB, P3, and sRGB colour spaces and reaches up to 1600 nits peak brightness.
Powered by up to Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 3 processors with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU, the laptop will be able to be configured with up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of Gen 4 M.2 storage.
The laptop chassis has been redesigned to maximise cooling, and comes in a new two-tone ‘Thunder Grey’ finish.
The redesign has enabled Lenovo to include a six-speaker Dolby Atmos tuned audio system which includes front-firing speakers.
Lenovo have also announced laptop will include the ‘Force Pad’, a big update to the touchpad which can be used as a drawing surface with the Yoga Pen Gen 2 letting you sketch, draw, as well as manipulate and annotate designs from the pad.
Lenovo has also announced the 11th generation Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition with a 15” 2.5K PureSight Pro display capable of up to 1100 nits peak brightness.
The new Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition will also be powered by up to Intel® Core Ultra 9 Series 3 processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of Gen 4 M.2 storage.
Both the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition and Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition will come with a 92.5WHr battery, with a 15-minute fast charge to get up to 3 hours life.
For those wanting a more compact option, the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition weighs in at less than 1kg, and comes with a 14” 2.8K resolution PureSight Pro POLED display.
The Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition will be powered by up to Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3
processors with integrated Intel Arc graphics. You’ll be able to get up to 32GB DDR5 RAM, and up to a 2TB of Gen 4 M.2 drive on-board.
The chassis also now has a ‘refined Yoga coating’ which has a matte, fingerprint resistant texture which should keep your laptop looking good.
Lenovo has also announced new Yoga 7a 2-in-1 models in both 14” and 16” display sizes.
The laptops include a new ‘Canvas’ mode, which takes advantage of the new Wacom powered Yoga Pen Gen 2.
Powered by the newly announced AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processors, they’ll be offered with up to 32GB DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB Gen 4 M.2 SSD – with both units powered by a 70Whr battery.
Lenovo’s 11th gen Yoga Slim will see two options with the Yoga Slim 7x powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite and Snapdragon X2 Plus, while the Yoga Slim 7a is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 400 Series processors.
Both will include a 14″ 2.8K resolution PureSight Pro OLED display capable of up to 1100 nits peak brightness.
If Laptops aren’t your thing, Lenovo has also announced the new Yoga AIO i Aura Edition with a 32” 4K OLED display which includes immersive Adaptive Lighting with a floating design that will fit right in in a studio.
Powered by Intel’sCore Ultra X7 Series 3 processors, the desktop comes with 32GB DDR5 RAM and up to a 2TB SSD.
The AIO has plenty of grunt, but with that nice big display it’s great for media playback and the OLED is paired with Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
The Adaptive Lighting looks functional more than a gimmick, with the system able to sync with video for ambient effects, as well as acting as a notification light to let you know about messages and other notifications.
Last is the Lenovo Yoga Mini i – a cute little miniPC that runs Intel’s Core Ultra X7 processor 358H and has a neat presence detection feature.
Designed in a compact cylinder, the Lenovo Yoga Mini i comes with an integrated 2W speaker and mic, as well as an accelerometer and fingerprint sensor. There’s also ambient adaptive lighting on-board like their Yoga AIO i, which can notify you when important information arrives.
The presence detection feature is driven by WiFi which can detect interruptions to the flow of Wi-fi and wake up your machine for faster lighting.
The miniPC includes dual Thunderbolt 4.0 and dual USB-C Gen 2 ports, as well as USB-A ports, ethernet jack and HDMI.
For those wanting a more versatile, and budget-friendly system, Lenovo has announced an updated range of IdeaPad laptops including the IdeaPad Pro 5i and new IdeaPad 5a/5x 2-in-1 models offering flexible pen-enabled input.
Aimed at creators and everyday users, the IdeaPad Pro 5i is built with power and performance in mind with up to Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs.
The laptop includes a large 16” 2.8K resolution OLED display which supports 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, and will be offered with up to 32GB DDR5 RAM on-board and up to 1GB of M.2 storage, with an additional SSD slot inside for future storage expansion.
The laptop includes a massive 99 Wh battery which also includes a rapid charge so you can last all day.
The new IdeaPad 5a/5x 2-in-1 models are flexible options, with a 360-degree hinge, the devices can switch between normal clamshell laptop to tablet mode in no time.
The units support natural writing and drawing through Lenovo Pen Gen 2 with tilt and pressure sensitivity for natural handwriting or sketching.
The IdeaPad 5x will come powered by the latest Snapdragon X2 Plus, while the IdeaPad 5a will be powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processors, with both offering up to 32GB RAM and 1GB Gen 4 M.2 SSD.
Lastly, Lenovo will offer the IdeaPad Slim 5x in two sizes, 13” and 15”, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus processors.
The Snapdragon platform will allow for all-day battery life up to 21 hours, with a fast charge option to get you up to 2 hours of use in just 7 minutes.
The laptops include a thin and light design with an all-metal chassis for durability. The IdeaPad 5x 13 includes a 13.3“ WUXGA resolution LCD display and weighs just 1.2kg, while the IdeaPad 5x 15 will include a 15.3” 2.5k resolution OLED display.
For fans of Google’s Chrome OS, the new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 15 i offers a premium option with an Intel Core i3 processor on-board.
The Chromebook includes a 15-inch 2K resolution IPS display and audio tuned by Waves making it great for video playback, or conferencing with a 5MP webcam with privacy shutter also on-board.
The Chromebook will come with 8GB of DDR5 RAM, and will be offered with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS storage.
It’s a sturdy unit, with Lenovo putting it through its paces against Mil-Spec (MIL-STD-810H) conditions for durability.
At this stage, Lenovo has only provided pricing and availability for the US, but we’ll see local pricing and launch timings as we get closer to local launches.
