New year, new phone, moto g57 lands down under with durable design under $300

As the flurry of CES starts to wane, Motorola are looking ahead and launching the latest moto g phone, the moto g57 in Australia today.

The phone is ‘designed to capture, crafted to last’, and comes with military-grade durability for drops, temperatures and more, IP64 water and dust resistance and comes with Gorilla Glass 7i to further protect against drops and scratches on the display.

The premium mid-series phone comes with a FullHD+ resolution 6.7” LCD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 gen 4 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage with the internal 5200mAh battery offering up to 47 hours of battery life with 30W TurboPower recharge to get you back to full power in no time..

Motorola will again bring a class-leading camera system, with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, 8MP Ultra-Wide sensor with 119.5° field of view and light sensor on the rear, and 8MP selfie camera on the front.

Running Android 16 though with no OS updates, and just under 3 years of security updates, with Motorola’s HelloUX software on board. As with their previous devices you’ll find Google’s Gemini AI assistant on-board, as well as Google Photos bringing AI-assisted photo editing including Reimagine, Auto Frame, Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur,  as well as other AI features including Circle to Search.

Motorola have added their custom software in HelloUX, with the family friendly ‘Family Space’ a kid-friendly environment you can set when you give your phone to your kids, and ThinkShield security hub for managing on-device protection for additional protection, letting you access Android and Motorola privacy tools in one convenient place.

The moto g57 comes in three Pantone colours: PANTONE Corsair, PANTONE Fluidity, and PANTONE Regatta.

The phone goes on-sale today for 9 from JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Big W, Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, MobileCiti, and Amazon.
