The Dell XPS is back, and ready to impress once again with the premium XPS 14 and XPS 16

XPS is back!  After a year in the wilderness, the much-loved Dell XPS branding is making a return in 2026 and is here to stay permanently (apparently).

At CES 2026, Dell unveiled new XPS 14 and XPS 16 laptops, crafted from CNC-machined aluminium, featuring premium displays covered with Gorilla Glass and high-end performance in a sleek, stylish design.

The traditional function row with tactile feedback has also been returned, along with a seamless glass touchpad.  The expected premium XPS keyboard is back, with optimised key travel and feedback for a quick, accurate typing experience.

Powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with built-in Intel Arc graphics featuring 12 Xe cores, delivering faster AI and graphics performance than previous generations.

The thermal system has been redesigned with larger, thinner fans for improved airflow while staying quieter and offering better battery life.

At just 14.6mm, the thinnest and narrowest 8MP/4K has been used, and to keep the laptop slim and lightweight, Dell has used 900ED battery cells to power the new XPS laptops.  The XPS 14 is now more compact than the MacBook Air 13 while providing more screen space!

The XPS 14 and XPS 16 are available in two display options: OLED for colour accuracy and vibrancy or 2K LCD for battery efficiency (up to 27 hours of Netflix streaming) and sharp images.  Both displays are InfinityEdge displays with the LCD display featuring smart power management and a variable refresh rate of from 1 Hz up to 120 Hz

Later in 2026, the XPS line-up will expand to include an XPS 13 with the same build quality and quality displays but at a sharper price point.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The XPS 14 and XPS 16 availability will start from the end of January 2026 in Australia and New Zealand with pricing available at that time.

Additional configurations, including a new entry-level configuration, will be available in February. Both models will initially be available in Graphite, with the Shimmer colour option becoming available later this year. Additionally, the XPS 14 will also be available with Ubuntu 24.04 later this year.
