Fans of Belgian cartoonist Hergé’s creation, the intrepid reporter Tinitin, will be pleased to see that LEGO has finally recognised the series with the LEGO Ideas Tintin Moon Rocket set, which will launch in April.
The detailed display model includes 1,283 pieces and features the rocket ship[from the Tintin comic books Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon, in its iconic red and white checkered colouring.
The set includes all your favourite characters in mini-fig form including Tintin & Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus and the Thompson twins (no relation), all decked out in the bright orange space suits, including space suits with helmets and oxygen tank accessories.
The set is part of the Lego Ideas program, which brings models from fans to mass production, with Portugal-based Fan Designer Alexis Dos Santos getting 10,000 votes for this design before its launch.
Pre-orders are already open for the Tintin Moon Rocket (#21367) which is priced at $279.99, with orders set to ship on April 1st.
