The first NFL game to take place in Australia will take place in Melbourne later this year, with the NFL confirming the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Los Angeles Rams on September 11.
The game will take place at the MCG on Friday, September 11 with kick off at 10.35am. The early morning start is timed to coincide with prime time TV coverage in the US, with this game the first regular season NFL game in 2026.
Tickets for the game will go on-sale for MCG Members next Wednsday, April 1st, with general sale starting on April 8th at 10am through Ticketmaster, with standing room tickets starting from $95 and general tickets from $140. This is the first of a number of NFL games to be played here in Australia, with the NFL also expanding as part of a multi-year deal for games to be played at the MCG. There’s also more games playing in countries around the world with the NFL committing to nine international games in 2026 across ‘four continents, seven countries and eight stadiums’.
