Earth: Shot on iPhone from Space – iPhone 17 Pro Max stars as Artemis II soars

The pictures tell the story, almost. NASA and Astronaut Christina Koch have shared images online of their view from the Artemis II mission around the Moon. What the pictures don’t tell you is that these may be the most epic “Shot on iPhone” images ever.

While not mentioned in the post, or on NASA’s website, one commenter on Instagram asked the question about what camera was used, and NASA responded:

Yep, confirmation – “Shot with an iPhone 17 Pro Max” and these are Selfie shots, using the front-facing camera. NASA has confirmed that with new Camera details on their Flickr account

These stunning images – taken out the window of the Orion capsule also were taken at the moment the Earth’s rotation put Australia front and centre of the images. That’s our big brown land right there.

Koch’s fellow astronaut Reid Wiseman also posted a cracking selfie shot:

Again – Australia, upside down, but front and centre.

Apple could let this slide and let the photos and social media sharing do their work, or they could capitalise and use these on billboards everywhere.

Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the Crew of the Artemis II mission at Steve Jobs Theatre or at least featuring in an upcoming iPhone launch announcement.

Stunning photos, no question!

Another Image NASA shared shows Astronaut Jeremy Hansen using an iPhone 17 Pro Max instead of a mirror while shaving!

With the crew now safely back on Earth, Apple Execs took to Twitter to acknowledge the feat.
