Ditch the bowser and power up your commute with the FTN Motion Streetdog XR electric motorcycle

It looks like the prices at the bowser aren’t going down anytime soon, and with demand for EV’s growing – maybe a new electric motorbike might be the way to go, with FTN Motion announcing their Streetdog XR electric motorcycle is launching in Australia.

Priced at $9,990 the Streetdog XR is a hand-built electric motorcycle being built in a limited run, combining classic motorcycle design with modern electric simplicity, giving you the benefits of a smooth ride with low maintenance and intuitive operation.

The design of the Streetdog XR is driven by rider feedback, with the Streedog XR bringing higher handlebars, raised suspension and increased ground clearance.

The bike is perfect for commuters wanting to ditch their internal combustion engine vehicle to save some money, as well as anyone without access to a charger. The bike is powered by a removable battery, which you can plug into any household powerpoint to recharge – which takes around five and a half hours.

The bike is lightweight, weighing in at just 88kg, and has a top speed of 85 km/h with a range of 60-80km – with the option to add a second battery to give yourself up to 140km of range.

The second battery can be stored in the 30 litre storage compartment under the ‘fuel tank’ at the front of the bike – and then swapped out when you need to, or you can just store your bag while travelling.

Luke Sinclair, co-founder of FTN Motion said

Motorcycles have always represented freedom, the ability to move through the world with simplicity and intention. The Streetdog XR builds on everything riders love about the original Streetdog, but with more capability and presence on the road. It’s designed to make everyday riding feel effortless and enjoyable.

You can start configuring your Streetdog XR now, with deliveries starting from May. There’s a range of options to choose from, so get on over and see what you can create.
