DJI announce the smaller (in volume), quieter and more efficient Power 1000 Mini

DJI has announced a new compact power station, the DJI Power 1000 Mini, ideal for charging on the go and keeping its entire ecosystem charged, featuring a dedicated charging port for all your drone-charging needs.

The new DJI Power 1000 Mini is half the size of the company’s current 1000Wh power station, and is optimised for “high efficiency power” and can be recharged to 80% in just 58 minutes. It features a built-in 100W retractable USB-C charging cable and arrives with a 400W car charger and an MPPT module.

The DJI Power 1000 Mini is optimised for low power consumption and actually lasts longer than the DJI Power 1000, even though they are the same-size batteries. If you read my review, publishing in the morning, you will see that I agreed with this — and had actually written it as such before DJI even sent out the press release.

Weighing just 11.5kg, the DJI Power 1000 Mini measures 314 × 212 × 216 mm and has a 1000W maximum output, though it can power some 1200W applications via two USB-A ports, two AC outlets, or an SDC port. It features two AC output ports, one USB-C output port, one retractable USB-C cable, two USB-A ports, an SDC port, and an AC input port.

The DJI Power 1000 Mini supports grid, solar, and car recharging. The built-in 400W car charger enables the power station to be recharged in 160 minutes using the DJI Power Car Battery Charging Cable (sold separately). When charging with a DJI solar panel (sold separately), no additional adapters are needed, thanks to the built-in MPPT module.

The built-in retractable USB-C charging cable supports up to 100W, enabling fast charging for devices that support PD.

The DJI Power 1000 Mini also features a UPS that kicks in within 0.1 seconds after a power outage to ensure continuous operation.

The DJI Home app can be used to control the power stations’ charging ports, allowing the user to monitor charging in real time.

The DJI Power 1000 Mini is now available for order from store.dji.com and authorised retail partners. Retailing at $799 AUD, DJI will offer limited-time promotional pricing at launch on store.dji.com/au and other select retailers.

For the AU DJI Store, two launch promotions will run from Apr 20 – May 3, applicable to both DJI Power 1000 Mini standalone and bundle purchases:

  • Gift with Purchase: The first 50 customers to order a DJI Power 1000 Mini (standalone or bundle) will receive a free DJI Power Car Battery Charging Cable.
  • Lucky Draw: All customers who place orders and do not cancel them during the period are eligible. Five winners will each receive an IBCPOWER 100W Foldable Solar Panel. Winners will be announced on May 8, and 100%-off coupons will be issued within 45 business days of delivery.
