Homey announce the integration of the Reolink app into its store, offering even more capabilities

Homey has announced the integration of the Reolink smart home app in the Homey App Store, offering enhanced functionality to Reolink customers.

Homey is a smarthome platform that allows the user to combine all their supported smarthome devices under a single banner – kind of what Matter was meant to be and do.  Homey supports connections to devices via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave, 433 MHz, and infrared.  This allows Homey to control, automate, and manage energy for your entire smart home.  In fact, over 50,000 devices from over 1,000 brands are supported.

The new integration allows users to connect Reolink cameras, doorbells, and NVR systems to Homey and to incorporate camera events into smart home automations in Homey Flow.

You may want to trigger the outdoor lights when the camera detects someone outside, and now, with the Reolink app integration, you can do that easily in Homey Flow.

“A camera that detects someone is useful,” said Stefan Witkamp, CEO of Athom. “A camera that detects someone and then locks your doors, turns on the lights, and sends you a photo — that’s a smart home.”

Now, everything Reolink can be accessed within the Homey app, including doorbell press and motion event notifications, live streaming, and more.  Not only that but you can control your cameras from within the Homey app

The new integration allows Homey to support all of Reolink’s  Wi-Fi and PoE cameras, PTZ models, dual-lens cameras, doorbells, Home Hub, and NVR systems, although at this stage, 4G/LTE models are not supported.

The Reolink app is now available in the Homey App Store and compatible with Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server.

We are hoping to get our hands on a Homey Pro to review in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that on the way.
