Zeekr hits a milestone and you’ll never believe who helped them get there

Chinese car maker Zeekr, part of the Geely Holding group has announced that after less than a year of sales of their popular Zeekr 7X Electric SUV they have hit the 3,000 sales figure.  Zeekr only entered the Australian market in October 2024 so they have quickly established themselves as one of the many new brands that have a real chance of succeeding in a crowded Australian electric vehicle market.

In announcing the milestone it was also revealed that the customer who took possession of 7X number 3,000 is someone who you may not always associate with sustainability.

“Today, I have the privilege of handing over the 3,000th Zeekr 7X in Australia to Andrew Fox,” said Frank Li, Managing Director of Zeekr Australia.

Andrew Fox is a Non-Executive Director of the Linfox Australia Pty Ltd, Linfox International Group Pty Ltd and Linfox Armaguard Pty Ltd boards

Mr Li went on to say “When I think about what we are building with Zeekr in Australia, this is exactly what it looks like. One of Australia’s most respected business leaders choosing to drive a Zeekr – not because of heritage or habit, but because the 7X earned it.”

The car itself has earned some high praise since it’s release including being awarded

  • Drive Car of the Year: Best Medium SUV Under $60K
  • CarsGuide Car of the Year: Best Medium SUV Under $60K
  • Money Magazine Best of the Best: Best‑Value Luxury EV

Zeekr state that the 3,000 figure is just the start with thousands more 7X’s already allocated to Australian customers.

This aligns closely with the recent uplift in EV sales and enquiries reported by the motoring industry as the events in the Middle East put pressure on household budgets. As consumers flock to EV’s the Geely Group and in particular Zeekr are well placed to take advantage of the growing popularity of electric vehicles
