Airbnb Expands Beyond Stays with AI-powered customer support, Grocery deliveries, pickups and more experiences

AirBNB has announced a host of new features coming to their app, expanding beyond booking a stay, to adding in features including car rentals, grocery delivery, airport pickups, boutique hotels, and more, including new AI-tools that will help find you the perfect place to stay, and even plan your trip.

The update will come ‘this winter’ adding in a host of new tools including the ability to order groceries to your AirBNB ahead of time, find a place to store your luggage or arrange a car rental or private car pick up from the airport – all within the AirBNB app.

AirBNB will also expand their ‘experiences’ to local landmarks offering ‘more than 3,000 landmark experiences—from the Tower of London to the Tokyo Skytree and the Taj Mahal.’

You can also connect with local foodies to experience local cuisine, with partnerships with Chef’s Table, and Grand Central Market, you can organise experiences including a 6-course food and wine pairing experience with Chef Gianfranco Pascucci of the Michelin-starred Pascucci al Porticciolo in Rome.

There will also be new listings for boutique and independent hotels on Airbnb, expanding offerings in 20 cities including New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome and Singapore, with more coming soon.

And finally, AirBNB will be adding in AI-powered tools to help plan your next holiday, including offering summaries of reviews, offering comparisons between options, sharing itineraries and more.

You can even connect with family and friends through AirBNB to see where they’ve been on AirBNB and see where they’re heading next – with the ability to message them and get tips.

AirBNB even says they’ll start AI-powered customer support, which will also soon include an option to voice-chat through a call.

Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb said

Travel shouldn’t just be convenient. It should be meaningful. The best trips help you explore, learn and come home a little different than when you left. That’s what we’re building at Airbnb. And this winter, we’re giving people even more ways to do it—from incredible places to stay and boutique hotels that feel like Airbnb, to unforgettable World Cup experiences and services that make your trip easier,

The changes will rollout in ‘Winter’ so stay tuned for updates in your AirBNB app.
