Insta360 launches versatile wireless “Mic Pro” microphone with industry firsts

You’ve all seen them – TikTok videos or Instagram Reels with your favourite creator holding a little tiny microphone, or perhaps they’re doing it right and have it clipped onto their shirt? These wireless microphones have changed the “sound” of Social Media but the latest from Insta360 sets some new benchmarks for visibility and versatility.

Out of the box, this is going to be high quality, wiht lossless 32-bit Float recording, which basically means the microphone can handle any sharp changes is volume without clipping and distorting – it’s a must have and a welcome addition.

But from a technical perspective what I like most is the versatility to use this in so many ways.

Firstly, one to one with a simple receiver for your smartphone or camera.

Then there’s direct with an Insta360 camera – easy pairing and taking your action video’s audio to the next level.

If you’re using a single camera to shoot multiple guests, most of these setups allow two microphones to a single receiver, the new Insta360 Mic Pro allows for four microphones to be paired with a single receiver which is not something I’ve seen before.

But wait, there’s more. Got two guests and multiple cameras? Covered. Two microphones can send their audio to four cameras at the same time so each camera has the real high quality audio recorded, and timecoded.

The party trick that tops it off? Insta360 is the first company to buck the “Branding” trend, no big huge visible logo from Insta360 if you clip the microphone on. Instead, the Mic Pro has a small colour e-ink display which you can customise with your name, logo, whatever you choose. Simple, and frankly brilliant.

Insta360 Mic Pro (2 TX + 1 RX kit): AUD$529.99
Insta360 Mic Pro (1 TX + 1 RX): AUD$319.99
Insta360 Mic Pro: AUD$159.99
