Optus says “We’re on it” – new campaign to move on from the past

After years of dramas from a Data Breach to a network outage and last year’s Triple Zero failures, Optus is making moves to get back to normal, beginning a marketing campaign with the slogan “We’re on it”.

Kicking off today in the major newspapers with a full page advertisement featuring an open letter from CEO Stephen Rue, the campaign aims to demonstrate accountability, transparency and action to current and prospective Optus customers.

Optus describes to EFTM gathering “raw and direct” consumer feedback to build the campaign where they learned that customers want more accessible human support for everything from network outages to scam activity.

The telco will highlight it’s investment in regional network upgrades, as well as enhanced scam protection measures as well as overall improvements to service reliability.

The move comes at a good time for Optus, just this week OpenSignal published their Mobile Experience awards for May, with Optus coming out on top for 4G and 5G Video and Games experience as well as Download speed.

It’s a remarkable chart, with the nations biggest Telco Telstra taking just Two wins, Vodafone had four as well as two joint wins with Optus.

Australia needs strong and reliable networks, and Telco businesses – Optus needs to be back on it’s feet, today’s open letter is a great first step.
