Uber introduces a unique ride – Book that Japan trip NOW

Uber (Tokyo) has announced the launch of one of the most unique rideshare options ever to be offered.

Are you tired of choosing between UberX, Electric, Comfort, Max, XL or even Pool? With Japan being one of the most popular destinations for Aussies, if you are travelling there, put this on the bucket list.

Uber have added to the weird and wonderful list of amazing Uber experiences found it their “Go Anywhere” strategy. They already offer Uber Safari (South Africa), Uber Balloon (Türkiye) and Uber Bubbles (France – champagne tasting if you were wondering). Now they have announced the introduction of Uber Drift.

It’s hard to believe but in 2025 over a million Aussies visited Japan, the first time the figure has breached the 7 figure level and a 15% increase year on year.

So why not book Uber Drift as part of your next Land of the Rising Sun adventure?

The new half-day experience starts by being picked up at your Tokyo hotel (by an Uber of course) and taken to the Mobara Twin Circuit located in Chiba where your group will enjoy a 90 minute session in a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicle. These cars are manufactured exclusively for the domestic market and are unique, high-performance and often a bit quirky. The Japanese do quirky so well.

You will accompany a Formula Drift licensed professional driver and get strapped into the passenger seat. Groups are small (4 or less) so you can get the attention you deserve and with such a small group it is an ideal getaway for you and your 3 best mates.

Uber drift will run for approximately one month primarily in the month of June. Bookings are made via the Uber app from Wednesday 27^th May.

The cost is a reasonable 30,000 JPY which is only around $AUD265. With only 4 groups accepted per day you may have to hurry to secure yourself a seat
