Samsung announce the world’s first 6K gaming monitor, the Odyssey G80HS

Samsung has announced the Australian availability of its new Odyssey gaming monitors and ViewFinity S8 monitor, “designed to meet the evolving needs of Australian gamers and creative professionals.

The 2026 Samsung monitor lineup includes new Odyssey monitors – the G80HS, the world’s first 6K gaming monitor; the G80HF, a 5K gaming monitor; the refreshed OLED G80SH; and a new Odyssey G7 (G73H).  The new lineup offers premium monitors across a wider price range, making them more accessible to more Australians.

“With the introduction of premium 6K and 5K Odyssey monitors, alongside affordable OLED and UHD Odyssey and ViewFinity models, we’re offering Australian gamers and creators unparalleled clarity and responsiveness across both gaming and professional environments,” said Simon Howe, Director of Visual Display & Brand Memory, Samsung Australia.

Odyssey G8

The new 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS model) is the world’s first 6K gaming monitor, delivering an even higher level of clarity and detail for an immersive gaming and multitasking experience on a massive screen.  The G80HS delivers this exceptional detail at a refresh rate of 165Hz, with 320Hz possible at a lower 3K resolution.

The new Odyssey G8 lineup also includes the 27-inch G8 (G80HF), capable of 180Hz at a 5K resolution or 360Hz at QHD resolution, making it ideal for all types of gamers.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) features an OLED display with a 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 240Hz and is available in 27- and 32-inch sizes.  With Samsung’s Glare Free technology allowing you to experience the OLED glory in any lighting condition and connectivity options including USB-C with up to 98W charging, the OLED G8 is ideal for high-performance gaming.

Odyssey G7

The new 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH) delivers premium performance to more users with a 4K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate at a more affordable price.  It also uses Dual Mode to support a 330Hz refresh rate at an FHD resolution while delivering a 0.03ms response time.

ViewFinity S8

Alongside the Odyssey monitors, Samsung also announced the 40-inch ViewFinity S8 (S85TH), designed for the modern workplace with a WUHD display and a 144Hz refresh rate.  It features Thunderbolt 5 support for high-speed data transfer at speeds of up to 80 Gbps and device charging up to 140W.
