Tineco Pure One P50 PRO Review – “This thing is brilliant”

For as long as I can remember, we’ve had Dyson stick vacuums. Our house has very little storage, so a stick vacuum has always made sense, and thanks to Trev, we’ve also had a revolving door of robot vacuums over the years.

The thing is, I’ve never really thought the Dyson lived up to the hype. Do they look good? Absolutely. Do they clean as well as everyone says? In my experience, not really. Eventually I’d had enough and told Trev we needed something different.

So he came home with the Tineco stick vacuum – the Tineco Pure One P50.

I’ve already been using the Tineco Floor ONE S9, which I think is excellent. Being able to vacuum and mop at the same time has been a game changer, so I was interested to see how their stick vacuum compared.

My first impression wasn’t great. It felt much lighter than I expected, almost a bit cheap, and I didn’t have particularly high expectations.

I was completely wrong.

This thing is brilliant.

We have hard floors throughout the entire house, including the bedrooms, and it picks up all the dust first go. If you have hard floors, you’ll know exactly what I mean – it feels like dust magically appears out of nowhere every single day.

Our daughter has a rug that I’d actually been considering replacing because I could never get it looking properly clean. After vacuuming it with the Tineco, it honestly looks refreshed again. I can’t really comment on carpet because we don’t have any, but for hard floors, rugs, stairs, long hair and everyday dust, it’s been fantastic.

One thing that has really surprised me is the size of the dust bin. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and kept thinking, “Surely I should have emptied this by now?” Although, to be fair, there’s every chance Trev quietly emptied it without telling me… so thanks, Trev! (Editor note: Trev in fact did not empty the dust bin – until taking photos, at which time it took Trev quite some time to work out – but, we got it done)

When Trev asked me to write this review, I thought I’d better actually look up what Tineco says the vacuum can do. One of the features is its ZeroTangle brush, which sounded like marketing speak to me. But with two girls who both have long hair, our vacuum brushes usually end up looking like they’ve grown a wig.

So I checked.

Not a single strand of hair wrapped around the brush.

That alone impressed me.

The vacuum also has a 120 degree green LED light on the front to help you see particles – something Dyson introduced a few years ago.

Battery life has also been excellent. I haven’t timed it or done any scientific testing, but I’ve vacuumed the whole house exactly as I normally would and it’s never run flat before I finished, which is all I really care about.

Another great feature of the Tineco Pure One P50 is the “Foldable Tube” – the touch of a button and the main vacuum tube clicks loose and can bend to 90 degrees allowing you to vacuum under things that you’ve probably not been getting udner for a long time. Not Bad, and perfect for Virgos who need to under stuff clean!

My only small criticism would be the charging dock. It works fine, but if it was positioned somewhere with kids constantly running past, I could imagine someone accidentally knocking the vacuum off. It’s hardly a dealbreaker though.

Overall, this is one of the rare tech products Trev has brought home that I’ve actually been genuinely happy to keep. It cleans brilliantly, handles long hair without constantly needing the brush cleaned, has plenty of battery life, and has made vacuuming a whole lot less frustrating.

And coming from someone who was pretty sceptical at the start, that’s saying something.

At 99 it’s not cheap – none of these Stick Vacuums seem to be, so in reality – it cleans as you would expect a 99 vacuum to do – and that’s a good thing.
