Tech company Honor have announced their latest foldable, the Magic V6 is coming to Australia alongside their new Honor 600 series devices featuring flagship-level 200MP Ultra-Clear Night Camera, segment-leading 7,000mAh Long-life battery and more.
The new Magic V6 is the followup to the Magic V5 which launched alongside the Honor 400 when they launched in Australia last year. Announced in China last month, the foldable is hitting Australian shores very swiftly, bringing an ultra-slim profile with upgrades to durability, performance and more.
The Magic V6 is even slimmer than last year’s model, just by a hair but a shade heavier – depending on the colour.
The phone will be available in White (219 grams), as well as Black and Red (224 grams), with the Red model using a soft-touch vegan leather on the rear.
It packs more of everything into that body, with the foldable now including IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. The phone includes a larger 6.52” outer display and 7.95” inner display connected by a Super Steel Hinge that features an AI-assisted bionic cushioning system’ designed to make it more resistant to drops and everyday use.
The inner display uses “UTG flexible glass” which Honor says has ‘a near-zero crease visual experience’, while the outer display includes upgraded protection with HONOR’s Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield which uses 5,600 layers of silicon nitride to protect it.
Honor has increased the size of the Silicon Carbon battery in the Magic V6 to a whopping 6600mAh – one of the largest batteries we’ve seen in a foldable. The phone will also charge faster with support for 80W wired and 66W wireless charging.
The battery will power the new Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 SoC which is paired with 16GB DDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The inner and outer display will include 20MP selfie cameras in a punch hole notch, while the triple Honor AI Camera system on the rear will stay relatively the same as the Magic V5.
The camera system will include a 50MP main sensor, 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP Ultra-Wide camera with Macro. The system has a focus on offering great results in low-light across all the sensors, as well as AI powered options for photos and video.
The phone will run MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, with Honor stepping up to promise 4 OS Updates and 5 years Security updates.
AI is embedded throughout Magic OS, including a suite of AI Agents including an AI Settings Agent, AI Photos Agent, AI Suggestion, and AI Screen Suggestions. These agents can analyse your screen and offer suggestions, as well as content creation and more.
