Exeter, UK-10 March 2024: An Amazon delivery box in front of a doorstep. Amazon is considered one of the Big Five American technology companies; the other four are Alphabet, Apple, Meta and Microsoft
Amazon Prime Day kicks off at Midnight (Tuesday July 7) and while it might be “labelled” as a day, it’s a full week. So here’s some quick tips to get the most from this mega shopping week!
Stephen Fenech and I were invited by Amazon to partner with them to produce a podcast live out at their huge Sydney robotic warehouse, and we did – it was an awesome time. You can watch the fullshow below.
But during that chat, we presented a bunch of tips, and I thought they were well worthy of publishing here too!
So, here they are!
1. Become an Amazon Prime member
Prime offers the best of shopping, savings, and entertainment in one convenient membership. Customers in Australia who haven’t tried Prime before can sign up to a Prime membership at amazon.com.au/prime with Amazon’s 30-day free trial, and then pay $9.99 per month, or $79 for an annual membership – that annual membership is absolutely ridiculous value.
Consider this, you get the Prime shopping experience – free delivery, but you also get Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Music!
2. Shop smart with the App
Browse, search and shop millions of items from your fingertips, track orders real-time, and even get alerts when saved items go on sale by using the Amazon app.
My additional tip, which applies on the website too – go into the filters, and choose “Ships from Australia” to ensure you’re getting local Aussie stock, and also “Get Tomorrow” if you’re in a rush!
3. Create an Amazon wish list
Create an Amazon wish list to help you map out what you need. You can also turn on deal notifications to be notified if a product from your wish list goes on deal.
It’s also a list you can share with your family when it comes to gift giving time – oh, what do I want – here’s a list!
4. Stay organised with Alexa
Alexa can help you create and add to a shopping list especially for Prime Day. Get started by saying: “Alexa, start a Prime Day list.” Then you’re good to go with just asking for things as you need them!
5. Voice-activated shopping and tracking
Following on from that, you can then hear some of the amazing deals available this Prime Day, just say, “Alexa, what are my deals?” Know what you want? Ask Alexa to add it to your cart! Alexa can also track your deliveries to ensure you don’t miss those precious goods. Just say: “Alexa, where’s my stuff?”
6. Shop faster with Amazon Lens
Using Amazon Lens, you can upload an image, take a photo, or scan a barcode to discover exact matches and similar items in the Amazon app – perfect for checking if an item you’re after is on sale.
Honestly, this is probably the sleeper of the bunch – have you ever scanned a barcode? Check the price of almost anything, even Tim Tams.
