Sonos expands its personal and home audio range alongside an update to its operating system

Sonos has announced two new high-end audio products, the Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar and Sonos Ace Ultra headphones, alongside an update to its operating system.

Sonos Beam Ultra

The Beam Ultra is a mid-size soundbar featuring nine custom drivers, including two up-firing drivers for true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound.  Dialogue is clearer than ever, with a redesigned centre channel and AI Speech Enhancement for improved clarity.

The Beam Ultra can be used as a standalone soundbar or as part of a home theatre system, paired with a Sub and/or rear surround speakers.  

Sonos Ace Ultra

The Ace Ultra are Sonos’ new premium over-ear headphones, built on Headphone Engine 2, Sonos’ new hardware that lets you link the headphones to your Sonos system.  They feature a 40mm driver in each earcup, Adaptive ANC powered by ten microphones and a massive 35 hours of playback with ANC on.

Sonos Beam Ultra and Sonos Ace Ultra are available for pre-order now, 2026 at sonos.com.au and select retail partners, priced at 99 AUD / 99 NZD and 9 AUD / 9 NZD respectively, with general availability on September 29, 2026. 

Sonos 27

The Sonos 27 audio operating system expands its open platform and adaptability using AI control through multiple assistants and agents.  It integrates your favourite AI, including ChatGPT, using Sonos’ Sonos 27mcp, but if you prefer, Sonos has created its own assistant, Sonos 27voice.

Sonos also unveiled its future plans for Sonos Custom Agents, allowing users to create their own agents, each with its own model, persona and voice.

The Sonos app has been redesigned to include the new features of Sonos 27 and is now much easier to navigate, giving users more control.
