When Nan’s biscuit tin is not for biscuits – Then what is in there?

Some interesting data from what you may consider a bizarre survey. The people at Drumstick have just launched a new addition to their flavour range – Anzac Biscuit, and to celebrate they decided that they needed to know what Aussies associated with Nan’s biscuit tin. It may surprise you to know that only 32% of them said biscuits. Go figure!

From the bizarre to the ridiculous, the answers ranged from “Raman noodles, fancy jewellery, emergency cash, magic tricks and even “100,000 knitting needles”

Whilst biscuits or cookies may have been the top answer, with sewing supplies at 21% not that far behind.

Other notable answers were:

• “100,000 knitting needles” – the mind boggles
• Money stashed for emergencies – Probably my answer and better than under the bed I guess
• Lollies hidden from Pop – Nan has a sweet tooth
• Fancy jewellery – Hidden from home invaders?
• Ramen noodles – To keep them fresh perhaps?
• Magic tricks – Pick a card, any card

Queenslanders seem to be the outliers with the greatest percentage of non-food related stuff stored in the biccie tin (34%) but in NSW where things are a bit boring it hits 63%.  (Is it biccies, bikkies or bickies?)

Back to business – The survey was to find out what you may find in Nan’s biscuit tin but when it comes to actual biscuits there’s nothing better than a good old Anzac biscuit and Peters has captured the taste with their newest offering – The Drumstick Anzac Biscuit – a frozen take on the familiar flavours of the classic Anzac biscuit.

The new Drumstick features a biscuit flavoured centre packed with Anzac biscuit pieces, swirled with caramel syrup and topped with more biscuit crumbs.

And before you ask, Peters secured the appropriate permit from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to use the word ‘Anzac’ for the new flavour.
