Zwift has announced the new season of its gamified fitness app, bringing not just a cleaner look and new roads but also full WHOOP recovery integration and a new second-generation Zwift Ride v2 smart bike.
WHOOP is taking over the fitness space and now offers even more integration into the Zwift app, giving users a more thorough picture of users’ training and more in-depth insights based on their WHOOP Recovery Score.
Zwift will automatically adjust your Personal Recommendations based on your Recovery Score to help you still get a useful workout in without overtraining.
Available at the end of the year, Zwift Ride v2 features even more versatility and adjustability than the first generation in a more compact frame. The bike now suits riders between 146cm and 198cm, and comes with five crank lengths and an updated seat position.
The new adjustable cranks and updated seatpost will be available as an accessory from Zwift.com for those with the first-generation Zwift Ride who don’t want to buy a whole new bike. The new Zwift Ride v2 is priced the same as v1: AU$2,299.95.
Next month, the Zwift Companion app will also receive an update to simplify the experience, making it easier to use, navigate to what you use most and view your progress.
Next week, the Zwift game home screen will see a refresh, with planning and progress available at a glance. The home screen will also display scheduled content along with day tags to help you visualise your week.
You can also track progress on the home page using a new Progress Widget.
In the next month or two, maps and roads will also be upgraded with a Watopia Expansion (October 26) and the Tour of Watopia (Oct 5 – Nov 22) offering new challenges to riders.
Other new features on the way include Watt Lock (October) for more control over your efforts, Power Play (Nov 23 – Dec 27) to deliver a fresh, fun way to get a quality workout using Power Segments, Drop Shop updates, and two new Halo Bikes.
Available this month, the Zwift Racing League returns with a more accessible series to help new racers easily enter the formats and teams.
