Amazon tonight announced a faster Fire TV Stick 4K and a suite of new Kindles with longer battery life, 30% faster book opening, a seamless flush-front design and new colours.
The new Kindles include a new smaller Kindle, a new Kindle Paperwhite and a new Kindle Colorsoft, all with new features.
The new 6-inch Kindle is the most portable Kindle available and arrives with 16GB of storage, a whopping six weeks of battery life and 30% faster book opening than the previous Kindle. Starting at AU$279 it is available in Ube (a purple-ish colour) and Graphite colours.
The smaller Kindle is available with an aluminium back for that extra premium look. The aluminium version starts at AU$299 and is available in Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green.
The Kindle Paperwhite is thinner and lighter than the previous generation Paperwhite. It is waterproof and provides up to 12 weeks of battery life. The 16GB Kindle Paperwhite is available in Graphite from AU9.
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition also includes an aluminium rear housing, 32GB of storage, an auto-adjusting front light and a new feature to double-tap to turn pages. It is available in Graphite and Seaglass Green for AU9.
The new Kindle Colorsoft delivers a colour that is easy on the eye, without the harsh vibrancy and glare of a standard digital tablet. Ideal for a comfortable reading of comics, travel guides and more, the Kindle Colorsoft is available with 16GB and Graphite colours for AU9.
The Kindle Coloursoft also arrives in a Signature Edition with aluminium housing, 32GB of storage, the auto-adjusting front light, the double-tap page turning in Graphite and Fig colours for AU9.
Alongside the new Kindle devices, Amazon has also announced new accessories including:
The new faster Fire TV Stick 4K arrives alongside a new Fire TV Remote for faster performance in a crisp 4K resolution.
The faster Fire TV Stick provides not just faster performance but a smoother experience across the entire operating system. It is thinner and more portable than ever and features Direct Power, allowing you to power the device using your TV’s USB port.
Starting at AU9, the new Fire TV Stick 4K is available now on Amazon.com.au and at JB Hi-Fi.
The new Fire TV Remote features a new design with more tactile controls, making it easier to hold and navigate the buttons without looking at the remote itself. It features a customisable star button to open your favourite app or to toggle the settings you use the most.
The new Fire TV Remote is available today for pre-order as a standalone option for customers who want to upgrade their existing Fire TV device. It will start to ship in Australia on 22 October for AU.95.
