The most amazing aspect of the iPhone isn’t the constant connection to the internet, or the plethora of amazing apps you can download and enjoy in mere moments – it’s the fact that it can be used to control 21st century remote control the Parrot AR drone to engage in virtual dogfights. And now that same control is available for Android phone users too.
Downloadable for free via the Android Marketplace, the Parrot AR.FreeFlight app lets you connect to your AR Drone using Wi-Fi and control it remotely for augmented reality dogfighting.
It doesn’t reduce the cost of the drone itself, which is currently hovering around the $350 mark, depending on where you look, but it does open up the virtual airborne dogfight to a whole new breed of smartphone class.
