Nissan to release 404kW Juke-R softroader

Motoring fans all saw the video Nissan used to show off the Juke-R. The then 390kW twin-turbo V6 trumped a Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Gallardo and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG around a track. Now you can buy a more powerful version!

The new Nissan Juke-R will be released with with the latest GT-R supercar engine under its bonnet. That will mean a twin-turbo V6 still but now pumping out an astounding 404kW with 628 Nm of torque. If you want to put those figures in perspective, a Subaru WRX doesn’t even get to 200kW. All this power means you’ll likely be able to travel 0-100km/h in around three seconds. That’s supercar time.

The concept was shown off online with this video as well as at the Tokyo Motorshow. Unsurprisingly, the reception was immense and Nissan has now played its cards right and is launching the Juke-R in seriously limited numbers.

Guess what Australia, you won’t be able to get your hands on one unless you are really, really, really crazy and have money. None will be heading our way which leaves your only option as putting your name for one now and taking delivery overseas.

The SMH is predicting pricing to be an amazingly reasonable $100,000 although it’s not known where those figures come from. With the supercars it’s trumping coasting triple that and more, it’s a massive bargain. Even the GT-R supercar is almost twice that cost.
