New Superman trailer shows the Man of Steel struggling with his identity

The last time the Superman franchise rebooted, we ended up with the exceptionally average Superman Returns. But as this new trailer for Man of Steel shows, this time we’re in for something different.

Superman’s origin story is probably the best known of any comic book hero. But no film has really looked at how the extra-terrestrial dealt with being an outcast, and how he would have to overcome his own identity in order to become Superman.

It looks like this film will do that. And with the likes of David Goyer, Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight trilogy) and Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) involved, this looks as promising as we could possibly hope.

The movie is set to hit theatres in the middle of next year.
