HMD launch their own stylish, repairable mobile line at an affordable price

After a successful, and continuing run as the manufacturer behind Nokia phones; HMD Global are launching their own line of phones with a focus on design, affordability & repairability.

Launching with three devices under $300, the HMD line includes the HMD Pulse Pro, HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse which are all on-sale in Australia from today.

The HMD Pulse line is what HMD Global calls ‘Gen 1 repairability’, offering parts and easy to follow guides through partner iFixit, to resolve many common issues found on mobile devices including replacing a damaged display, bent charging port, or a depleted battery.

Brenden Folitarik, GM for Australia and Oceania, said:

We are here to deliver something new, exciting and different to Australian consumers and to the industry as a whole. Our inaugural Pulse range epitomises what HMD will stand for in the market, reinforcing that Australians no longer need to decide between design or value, features or fashion. As Human Mobile Devices our focus will always be what is best for Australians, balancing the very best in design, technology and value.

HMD Pulse Pro

Starting at the top of the line, the HMD Pulse Pro is priced at $299, and embodies the entire HMD Pulse collection, setting a tone for HMD’s position for the line, offering  ‘clean lines, calm tones, modern aesthetics, elegant repairability and bold, brazen design at an accessible price’.

The phone includes a large 6.56-inch HD+ resolution display and is powered by an octa-core Unisoc platform, with 6GB RAM and 128GB of on-board storage, the HMD Pulse Pro is ready for a full day with a 5000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.

With a focus on selfies, the HMD Pulse Pro includes a 50MP front-facing camera, that’s tied to a new Selfie Gesture Navigation to let you capture blur-free memories with just a wave of your hand.

The HMD Pulse Pro comes in three stunning colour choices: Glacier Green, Twilight Purple and Black Ocean, with owners of the Glacier Green able to accessorise with a matching coloured charger sold separately.

HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse

Heading down the line, the HMD Pulse and HMD Pulse+ offer the same great 6.56-inch display and repairability options and the Pulse Pro, with similar battery life thanks to the 5,000mAh battery which offers up to 59 hours of use.

There’s great design elements on both phones, with the HMD Pulse coming in three colours: Dreamy Pink, Atmos Blue and Meteor Black, while the HMD Pulse+ is offered in Apricot Crush, Glacier Green and Midnight Blue.

The HMD Pulse and HMD Pulse+ are both powered by an Octa-Core Unisoc processor, with 4GB RAM and 128GB of on-board storage.

While both the HMD Pulse and HMD Pulse+ feature an 8MP selfie camera, the HMD Pulse includes a simple 13MP sensor on the rear, while the HMD Pulse+ ups the ante with a 50MP sensor on the rear.

The HMD Pulse is available from today for 9, while the HMD Pulse+ will cost 9.
