Tesla on the hunt for Aussie car engineers

While the general mood in Australia is “doom and gloom” when it comes to the Automotive manufacturing industry, there’s one company looking to take advantage of the Aussie talent in this space.  Tesla.  They’re putting out the call for Aussie engineers to  join the company as it grows enormously globally.

Wisely, the recruitment drive is focused on Melbourne, where the bulk of the Aussie car industry is based.

While the productions lines for Ford, Holden and Toyota will grind to a halt in the next few years, most had hoped or signaled that the local design and engineering teams would be retained to work on global projects, perhaps though with the chance to work for arguably the most innovative motoring company in the world – Tesla – might just be the lure required to draw them away from the household names they’ve been with.

If you’re involved in automotive engineering, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime.
