Electric Car company Tesla’s plans for its Australian launch are gaining pace. After a few months of private and exclusive test-drives in Sydney and Melbourne, they are currently doing shopping centre displays and very soon they will open locations in Sydney and Melbourne. EFTM can reveal the location of a Sydney showroom in the North Shore suburb of Artarmon
Two months ago we noticed a Tesla at what used to be a Holden dealership in Artarmon (then a Mitsubishi and Skoda) but has been vacant for many months.
It turns out, that was not just a fleeting visit, the dealership on the corner of Herbert St and Frederick St in Artarmon will be the site of a sales showroom for Tesla.
As of this week, “Coming Soon” signs are along the fence-line in Frederick St, and while Tesla won’t confirm a date for the showroom to open, looking at the frantic work going on inside the showroom will be up and running by Christmas.
In the USA, Tesla operates street-front showrooms where potential buyers can look at the vehicles, view the technology, the options and arrange a test-drive. Given the size of the Artarmon premises, this is likely to be one impressive showroom.
