Facebook tourists flock to Sydney and QLD with Melbourne struggling

Love a good Sydney vs Melbourne rivalry right? Well, Facebook has thrown some fuel on that fire – releasing it’s 2014 year in review.  The review features among other things – the “most checked-into places in Australia”, and we’ve got the list

As it turns out, according to Facebook tourism, that is  – those people who choose to “check-in” at a given location, Sydney tops the list.

Darling Harbour in Sydney being the number 1 place, followed by the Sydney Opera House.

And while the hallowed turf of the MCG is third on the list, that’s all Victoria could offer into the top ten.

NSW also featured with Sydney Harbour and Toronga Zoo, but it was QLD who held five of the top ten spots.
