Aussie Matt Simmons gets his 2016 drive in the Blancpain Endurance Series

This is a great story! The story of Aussie Matt Simons. Just a year ago he was Australia Post postie, now he’s a Professional race driver thanks his win in the 2015 GT Academy and impressive performances since.

Nissan Australia CEO Richard Emery tonight announced that Matt had not achieved his goal of driving in the Dubai 24 hour race next year. Instead he’s landed a drive in a Nissan GTR in the 2016 Blancpain Endurance Series.

This is serious stuff – ring at Monza, Silverstone, Spa and many more places he’s probably only seen on his Playstation..

Here’s the moment Nissan broke the news to Matt:

And if you’re like me and want to know more about the series – check this,

Also tonight it was announced that not only would Nissan return to the Mountain to defend its 12 hour title, but Nissan Australia have ordered the car to take on the mountain and it will stay in Australia for other events.
