Telstra offering FREE NRL Streaming on your mobile this season

Every year the battle for eyeballs begins in earnest as the major sporting codes kick off their seasons and TV broadcasters look to make the most of the many millions they spend on acquiring the rights and broadcasting the games.  EFTM has done the digging and can help you find the games when you want them wherever you want to watch.

If you’re at home looking for the days big NRL clash, Channel 9 have the rights to Thursday, Friday and Sunday footy, while Fox Sports Subscribers can watch all NRL games live.

If you’re out and about, it’s possible to watch every single game live on your mobile phone.

Foxtel Subscribers can access the Fox Sports broadcast via the Foxtel Go app – all you need to do is have the Sports package as part of your ongoing subscription and the app will let you watch the Fox Sports channels.

For those who don’t have Fox Sports, the news in 2016 is excellent.

Telstra once again have the official NRL and AFL mobile apps, and Telstra mobile customers (both Consumer and small business plans) can access a 2016 “Footy pass” for FREE!

Normally around $80, each user can choose an AFL or NRL pass for no cost.  If you want both, you will need to pay for one of them.

The NRL Digital Pass gives you live access to every match of the round plus State of Origin, Test matches and the NRL Finals series.  There are also some 400 archived games available to watch in the app.

If you’re an AFL fan, the AFL matches are also available live in the AFL Live app.

The season passes are available from March 3 within the app, if you want to get your pass sooner – try using your Telstra mobile and dial #820#.

The Nine Network do not have streaming rights, so while the games are on Free-To-Air on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, they will not be available via the 9Now streaming service – much like the Cricket earlier in the year which was exclusive to Optus mobile, the NRL games will be exclusive to the NRL App or Foxtel Go Subscribers.
