ARIA Awards Red Carpet: Shot on iPhone 7 Plus

Apple are so confident in the ability and quality of the camera on the iPhone 7 Plus they sent a photographer along to the ARIA Award Red Carpet last night to take photos exclusively with the iPhone 7 Plus, and the results, as you’d expect are excellent.

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Aria Awards in Sydney, Music royalty turned out for the Aussie industry’s night of nights.  ARIA accredited photographer Chris Hillary to snap the Red Carpet alongside other press photographers and their big DSLR cameras.

Chris is Melbourne based, and his iPhone photography has been noted in the annual iPhone Photography Awards, so who better to send along to the ARIA’s.

The iPhone 7 Plus differs from the iPhone 7 and almost every other camera because of its dual lens camera system which when combined with software Apple have developed allows you to switch to Portrait mode and get that in focus subject, out of focus background which is known as “depth-of-field” effect.

You’ve got to admit, if you didn’t know it from this article, you’d be hard pressed to know these pics were taken on an iPhone.

And for those who are interested, Troye Sivan won the Apple Music Song of the Year for “Youth”, while John Farnham was the performer of the night on stage (Written as a massive John Farnham fan! :))  Sadly, Chris failed to get a photo of Farnsy, or that would have been up the top here.

Chris has also recently created “Sour Souls,” a collection of animated stickers for Messages in iOS 10 if you’re into that fun sticker style messaging!
