The EFTM Best Awards are the team at EFTM’s way of recognising the best stuff we’ve seen or reviewed throughout the year – our first award is Best Innovation and the winner was not difficult to decide.
If I have to think about the things that made me go WOW this year, there’s a few, but perhaps none moreso than the app developed right here in Australia by the team at Fox Sports – Fox Vision.
Released just days before the Bathurst 1000, the app allowed you to watch 360 videos, but also dip into a world of Augmented Reality to see a real-time look at the top ten times on an interactive map of Mt Panorama which magically appears on the desk or floor in front of you.
If you’re a bit more competitive, there’s the augmented racetrack driving a SuperCheap Auto V8 Supercar around your lounge room.
When it comes to Innovation, this isn’t just a great app, it’s a way to complement a TV broadcast and it did it so well – love it – once again, well done Fox Sports!
