Apple’s WWDC returns to San Jose: Let the rumours begin

For 15 years Apple held its annual WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose – close to the company’s Cupertino headquarters, that was until in 2003 the event moved to San Francisco at the Moscone West.

San Jose is a short drive to Apple’s Campus, and new “Spaceship” headquarters in Cupertino

15 more years later and the event returns to San Jose at the McEnery Convention Centre this year on June 5-9.

WWDC showcases Apple’s software, always includes details of new versions of the operating systems across its devices and allows developers from around the world to get access to Apple’s engineers in small and large sessions across the days.

All eyes will be on San Jose for updates to iOS, MacOS as well as Apple Watch and Apple TV operating systems.  During the opening Keynote CEO Tim Cook and his executives will often update areas of business progress, and sometimes new products.

Rumours are already strong about the next iPhone, as well as new Apple TV updates and more.  Will Tim Cook announce the next iPhone at WWDC?  Unlikely.  But you can never rule it out.

More likely, the event could mark the opening of the new Spaceship campus and headquarters in Cupertino, though again, If I was a betting man, I’d suggest that venue (including the Keynote Auditorium Apple have built on the site) will debut the next iPhone.
