Getting a jump on the competition: LG G6 available this month

LG aren’t mucking around in 2017 – just days after announcing the new flagship G6 smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, they’ve announced it will be available this month in Australia.

Timing is everything in retail, and in mobile phone world it’s even more so – every week hundreds of thousands of Aussies come off contract and are ripe for the picking when it comes to signing them up to new plans and handing over a new phone.

With Samsung still to reveal their next challenger, LG have jumped ahead and will launch the G6 into Australia on March 28 through Telstra, just a day and a bit before Samsung announce the Galaxy S8.

While pricing is not yet available, you can expect this to be at the upper premium range – probably $1099 or $1199 – though that is purely speculation.

Key features of the LG G6 are the 5.7 inch 18:9 ratio display offering more on-screen bang for your buck.

Bruce Leigh, Marketing Manager for Mobile at LG Electronics Australia said of the launch timing “’We’re delighted to be bringing the LG G6 to Australia so soon. Australians are increasingly spending more time viewing content on their smartphones and the LG G6 has been designed with these types of consumer trends in mind, most notably providing a big screen that actually fits in one hand, so you can see more and hold less. The G6 has functions Australians have come to expect, such as wide angle cameras, water resistance, finger print security and the latest Google enhancements.”

It’s a beautiful phone, especially in black as we’ve been testing.  We’ll have pricing closer to launch.
