Sphero doubles down on Star Wars: New BB-9E and R2-D2 droids available

These are the Droids you’re looking for – expect to see those words written and spoken a lot, just like two years ago, Star Wars fans are experiencing “Force Friday” the day all the merchandise for the upcoming Star Wars film is announced and Sphero is back with not one but two new Droids.

BB-8 was a sensation two years ago, the genius of taking a great toy like Sphero and turning it into an iconic Star Wars toy was a retail sensation – it was the hot seller for Christmas 2015.

In 2017, Sphero has a lot more competition, but they’ve come out of the blocks fast with two new app-controlled Droids launching.

BB-9E and R2-D2 – like BB-8 are astromech droids who’s presence now span decades of the Star Wars saga with the inclusion of R2-D2 taking us right back.

If you haven’t used BB-8, its a remote control toy – using a smart device you can drive it around, and even sit and watch the Star Wars movies with it, it listens and interacts with what’s on screen.

BB-9E and R2-D2 are the same, with BB-9E starring in the new Star Wars : The Last Jedi which releases later this year.

BB-9E will retail for $249.99 while the larger R2-D2 will be $299.99 – they are in EB Games, Tech 2 Go, JB Hi-Fi, Zing, Apple, Harvey Norman starting TODAY.
