Halloween, whether we like it or not, is a growing occasion celebrated in Australia. If you’re home on October 31st there is a chance that some fancy dressed children will knock on your door seeking some candy. So, be prepared with a bucket full of lollies and chocolates but make your evening at home more relaxing and “in the spirit” with this claret we’ve come across.
Appropriately named Bare Bones, this spooky labelling transforms in the dark. It not only comes to life per se but it actually helps find the bottle when the lights are off.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is from the land of some of the best in this variety; Coonawarra. Located in South Australia there is an area where the land, heavily laden with clay, works wonderfully for Cabernet Sauvignon. This full bodied red wine has a wonderful berry and plum on the nose and dark cherries in the mouth. The Bare Bones isn’t overly tannic either so no harsh endings.
If you’re looking to pair a meal with this wine then why not put a lamb to the slaughter and make a wonderful roast in the oven, it will be rewarded with this wine.
The Bare Bones Cabernet Sauvignon is available now from Dan Murphy’s for less than $20.
