As the member of the team with the biggest family, it’s my job to determine the EFTM award for Best Family Car this year.
Now I got to drive a fair few cars you’d put in that category, but unlike some, I know full well that while a hatch-back might be used in many families, when we talk of a “Family Car” we’re talking about something that can get the whole family to Saturday morning sport.
That trip involves a lot of gear, possibly the kit bag, and with three kids you want room for them and probably one or more of their mates too.
For this reason, I can’t go past the Kia Carnival – I honestly loved driving it. As the driver it felt luxurious (we had the Platinum model), the dashboard well laid out, the movement between seats was great and the seat configuration made access to the third row really easy.
Great boot space even with all seats up and you’re really on a winner. A Family of five who doesn’t test drive the Kia Carnival is dudding themselves in the buying process. It’s a deserved winner of the EFTM Best Family Car award for 2017.
