All your kids are talking about is Season 5 of Fortnite right? Ok, we’ve read through the release notes, we’ve watched all the videos, and can tell you a few things you need to know if you wanna stay sounding cool around your kids..
Firstly, the game went offline at 6pm Sydney time, that’s when Epic Games started the process of upgrading their servers, and around now you’ll be able to update your game on Xbox, PS4 or Mobile – wherever you (and your kids) play it.
So here’s what we know so far is new:
The ATK as it’s known is a golf buggy, but ready for all the hills and grasslands of Fortnite.
Learn to drift it and you’ll get a speed boost so you can get to the circle faster. You can jump into the Kart as a squad, so rear and front passengers can get a ride too – plus, the roof acts as a bounce pad!
There’s a whole new area – a desert – remember the Burger in California – this was a hint to that one.
A new location called Paradise Palms is going to be worth exploring, as is the new Lazy Links.
Plus there are a bunch of other new points of interest all across the island.
Beware – if you get a long way into the game, the 7th, 8th and 9th storm circles can now shift in random directions instead of just shrinking in. So keep an eye out!
Good news, if you’re like me and don’t get too far with the challenges each season, they are no longer restricted to a single season, so take your time.
Oh, this sounds interesting! “Test your courage and step through a Rift. You’re in for a wild ride.” We’ll have to have a look at that one!
Of course there’s LOADS more we’ll find in the game, but for now, that’s going to keep you sounding cool when chatting to your kids about Fortnite and trying to sound like you know stuff!
