TCL delivering an 8K TV to Australia in 2019

Announced today at IFA in Berlin, TCL, one of the world’s largest leading top three panel manufacturers, has announced three new televisions coming to Australia and one of them is 8K. For a number of years we’ve been hearing and seeing concepts of this next standard but now we know, 2019 will be the year 8K hits the shelves.

The 75 inch X10 8K television will be the one to look out for when it does hit the stores however TCL is also launching a Frame TV and the X8, the X8 likely being the one most buyers will still be able to afford and lean toward. The Frame TV is not like the similarly named model from Samsung which literally aims to look like a picture frame on the wall, instead TCL have gone with an abstract rectangle arrangement to “frame” your picture with what looks like a smart integration of speakers covered in blue.

All three televisions are coming with the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa onboard enabling another level of interaction and control of your TV while all three televisions will also run the Android O operating system so you know that smart TV apps are going to be readily available too.

All three of the new models will feature the latest Onkyo sound technology, alongside Dolby Atmos. Onkyo is set to feature heavily in TCL models, following TCL’s acquisition of the brand, as well as the Pioneer brand, earlier this year. So they should look and sound pretty darn good.

More information including pricing will be announced early 2019, likely at CES, but start saving, if the costs of 4K televisions when they first arrived are anything to go by, an 8K TV won’t be cheap!
