Beats Pro Headphone review: The best Dr Dre and Apple have to offer

I wanted a set of these in my studio here at EFTM from the moment I first heard them – that was at Apple’s WWDC Podcast Studio earlier this year.  Fortunately, it wasn’t long before I got my hands and ears on them – and I love em.

They’re not for everyone, and frankly, the term “pro” should be a dead giveaway that they’re not for watching Netflix and other random daily stuff either.

These are pro studio headphones.  They sound better than most all other radio studio and recording studio headphones I’ve tried.

As is common with Beats products, they are Bass heavy no doubt, but they make up for that with a very clear and crisp overall sound, for vocals and mid to high range audio.

Their construction alone is justification for the $499 price tag, made of metal they don’t feel cheap in any way shape or form.  The cable comes in the box but is not hard wired to either ear – in fact you have the choice of which ear to use for the cable, for a comfortable fit no matter where you sit in your studio.

Fit on the head is also tight, no matter how you expand them to fit your size they are more snug on the ear than most which can take some getting used to.

When you’re not using them they fold neatly together making them ultra portable and they can take a bit of a beating too – I’ve been using them several months and while there are some nics and scratches on them, they aren’t missing a beat.

Very impressive stuff.  $499.95 at Apple but look around we found them for $379 at Harvey Norman.
