Baby Getting A Bald Patch? Here’s a tip

One thing that will always be true, no matter how many parents surround you, books you read, videos you watch and classes you attend – no one is truly ready for life as a new dad. There is so much to learn and no one is an expert really, deep down we’re all winging it.

So if you’ve got a tiny bub who was born with some hair you may notice that rather than getting more and more hair, they develop a bald patch on the areas they sleep on most. Funnily enough, there is a cure to baby baldness!

We have been checking out a product from Silky Tots and essentially it’s a 100% Mulberry silk cot slip or bassinet cover which prevents  the harm that trusty cotton is causing. Available in a bunch of sizes and colours and patterns you’ll find one that suits their age and theme. We’ve been testing one of the slips and baby certainly hasn’t complained and he does have a wonderful head of hair.

It turns out that ordinary cotton and bamboo sheets twist and tug the hair causing knotting, matting and eventually the dreaded baby bald spot. Silky Tots Silk allow hair to glide over the surface, eliminating the friction to prevent baby bald spots! Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and dust mite repellent meaning Silky Tots products are also great for bubs with sensitive skin or allergies.

The products are a little more expensive than regular cotton products in the same category so they make great items for the baby shower or as a gift when a mate has a newborn. They’ll thank you for it later. The bassinet slip could set you back $55 while the larger items for cots can cost up to $170. Also, if the missus asks; yes it is all non toxic material and designed in line with Australian SIDS safety guidelines.

No more frizz, bald spots or knotty baby hair… now can they help me from losing all MY hair?
