Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar: Australian pricing and release date

Back in August 2018, Bowen got the opportunity to listen to the new Sennheiser AMBEO soundbar that was announced at IFA and he was pretty impressed.

The AMBEO soundbar is Sennheiser’s first entry into the soundbar market and the latest product to be developed under the AMBEO trademark, producing 3D quality sound. Sennheiser claim that the height elevation created by the AMBEO line of products gives the listener an “as if there” experience and likens it to the jump between mono and stereo sound last century. A big claim no doubt.

It’s quiet a bulky soundbar, producing 5.1.4 sound quality but without the need for an additional subwoofer.

The soundbar is powered by 13 drivers and is capable of optimising the sound based on the room it is in, the preferred seating position and if you are watching sport, music or watching a movie.

The AMBEO Soundbar is compatible with Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H and DTS:X. Thanks to its Upmix Technology, it can also recreate stereo and 5.1 content in stunning 3D.

The AMBEO soundbar is packed with connectivity options with the built in Chromecast, Bluetooth and HDMI eARC/CEC. There are a further three HDMI inputs, an optical audio port and an AUX (RCA) input.

Sennheiser are placing the AMBEO soundbar as a premium product and it comes with the premium price tag of $3499 and will be available in Australia in May 2019
