You can do your Coles shopping on eBay – well, most of it anyway

Coles has extended its online reach with a new online store within the eBay ecosystem stocking more than 4,000 products ready to ship to your home.

We’re not talking fresh food here – we’re talking about pretty much anything with a barcode – so that could mean your bag of carrots or apples, but won’t get you a chook or steaks for the BBQ.

It’s also gotta be the sort of thing that can be left at your door – so again, it won’t be cold or frozen stuff either. Oh, and for those gaming the supermarket system already to deprive needy parents of easy to access to baby formula – you won’t get that via Coles on eBay either.

With that said, it’s a big step forward for Coles, with so many “pantry” offerings out there online – it’s critical our established brands are playing in this space – not just in their own online stores.

It’s limited to metro areas of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and comes with a specific delivery program for unattended delivery so it’s left for you if no-one is home. It’s not the same as your online Coles shop which allows you to set clear delivery windows including same day.

Tim MacKinnon, Managing Director of eBay Australia and New Zealand says, “Coles is one of Australia’s oldest and most trusted brands, so we’re excited to welcome them to eBay as they broaden their online channels. Both eBay and Coles share the vision of providing convenience, range and value to our customers and together we can make it even easier for Aussies to meet all their shopping needs in one place.”

Coles Online Chief Executive, Alister Jordan says, “We are always looking for ways to make life easier for our customers.

“By partnering with eBay, we are providing our customers another convenient way to access our products and have them delivered straight to their door.”

Delivery is free for eBay Plus members on orders $50 or over, other deliveries are $10.
