Late last year Mercedes-Benz introduced some fire power to its X-Class ute via the X 350d 4MATIC flagship model. Now a limited number of Edition 1 X 350d 4MATIC models will hit dealerships in July.
The new variant is essentially a beefed up X 350d courtesy of bolder exterior adornments. The package includes exclusive black design features and accessory parts, making it the brute of the X-Class pack.
The extra fruit includes standard metallic paint with three to choose from including kabara black, bering white or rock grey. But as is the case with many ute packages these days it’s all about going black. The Merc badge gets a black going over in the middle of the twin-louvre radiator grill. Black highlights also make their way to the front and rear bumper-bar areas, fog light surrounds, side door handles, rear tailgate handle, badges, beltline trim strip, roof rails and 19- alloy wheels.
But to really top it off the bonnet gets stick on sports stipes along with the side mirrors, V6 badge surrounds, lower side lines and rear tailgate. A rear bar and side steps also come as standard.
The tray itself comes with a tub liner and hard tonneau cover to match your chosen colour.
The visual upgrade makes its way into the cabin via floor mats with Edition 1 embroidery and a chrome Edition 1 badge on the passenger side dash. Your bum will remain warm and comfortable via standard leather heated seats. The rear glass is also tinted including the electric rear windowpane.
Power comes via the 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 190 kW/550 Nm. That grunt is sent to the ground by the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.
The Edition 1 X 350 d 4MATIC really is really pushing the price envelope when it comes to utes with bling with a $87,500 price tag before on-roads!
