Mate against mate, bull against rider – it’s PBR time

It’s not just mate against mate time, it’s also bull against rider time as the inaugural Professional Bull Riders (PRB) Origin takes place this weekend. The NSW v QLD showdown will take place tomorrow at the ICC Sydney Theatre in Darling Harbour.

This spectacle not only sees NSW and QLD riders going head-to-head but also includes four top international riders.

The General Manager for PRB, Glen Young, said:

“This Saturday night it won’t just be Vivid lighting up Darling Harbour; there will also be plenty of action indoors at the ICC Sydney. Twenty-two of the world’s toughest and most skilled cowboys will take on a raging bovine – with each bull outweighing the entire NSW team forward pack –  in a bid to take claim our first ever PBR Origin trophy,”

The rivalry between the two teams is now at boiling point, and with some help on both teams from world-class international riders, we’re sure to see some electrifying rides and performances to remember. While there are still some tickets left on sale, we are selling fast and expect Darling Harbour to be awash with blue and moron on Saturday night

“Bull riding is one of the most dangerous sports, if not the most dangerous sport, on the planet – we like to say it’s so tough you have to last 8 seconds, not 80 minutes.  It’s literally an 8 second fist fight from the moment the gate cracks until the buzzer blows.  There are no time outs, sideline judges or referees to call time out – it requires an entirely different set of balls.  This danger builds a strong sense of camaraderie among our champion cowboys. This week, however, the fight for top Origin honours has blown apart loyalties and pitted many mates against mates as state lines have been drawn. It’s all about State pride as QLD and NSW riders go head-to-head.”

Tickets for the June 1 Monster Energy PBR Origin are on-sale at www.ticket.com.au
